The tranquillity of a small Kent village was shattered one evening in October 2012 when a group of friends found a woman with horrendous stab wounds, dying on the roadside. A couple of hours later a young man walked into a nearby police station with blood on his hands, claiming self-defence. As the police tried to establish if the incidents were related, police received a call from mother of two, Adele Jarvis, who had woken up to find that her daughter, Natalie, hadn't come home. With a suspect in custody, the police had to fight to prove that the death of 23-year-old Natalie Jarvis was anything but an accident.
