Have you ever watched a movie where the characters are searching for treasure and wondered if such a scenario could actually exist? A treasure chest full of gold, some long lost Royal jewels or a fabled gem-stone the size of your fist – These are all examples that are commonly used in movies or stories about hidden treasures. OK, so for most of us, finding hidden treasure equates to discovering that $5 bill you forgot you had in your coat pocket or maybe lifting that couch cushion to discover $1.57 in change. If you are into using a metal detector, you can definitely find more treasure-like objects but we don’t think you’ll be stumbling across a treasure chest belonging to a pirate any time soon.
Indeed, there remains a great deal of lost or hidden treasures all around the world and much of it you could still conceivably find. We’re not talking wooden chests hidden in caves shaped like skulls but some of these treasures have stories that aren’t far off. From the Australian Outback to the Civil War battlefields to the lakes and caves of Europe, there is a good deal of evidence to suggest that millions upon millions of dollars-worth of treasure remains hidden. As you’ll see, some clearly exists while in other instances there’s a good chance the whole storyline is an elaborate hoax to make money. Ultimately, it’s still enough to make even the most skeptical person wonder how they can get their hands on some of these spoils.
We usually associate hidden treasure with stereotypical pirate movies and stories. In our modern world, it’s something that just doesn’t seem real. After all, in this digital age with GPS and seemingly super-detailed satellite imagery, how could anything possibly remain hidden. Well, it turns out there are treasures, hidden or unaccounted for, all over the world. As you’ll see, in many cases of hidden treasure, anyone could potentially find the jackpot if they are willing to put in the time and effort to track down the goods.
